Mason & Crumb

The Story

Started In A Yard

Full Circle!

Mason & Crumb grew out of Theo Mason’s market stall — a single wood-fired oven in a Birmingham yard, baking bread for the morning market. An award run, a first counter in the Cathedral Quarter, and now four neighbourhood counters later, it all comes full circle.

The Long Way Round

  1. The Start

    A Wood-Fired Oven In A Yard

Theo Mason started Mason & Crumb with a single wood-fired oven in a Birmingham yard, baking bread for the morning market.

  2. Early Days

    A Street-Food Following

Word spread fast. The market stall built a loyal weekend following, and the bake outgrew the yard.

  3. The Award Run

    An Award-Finalist Bake

The croissant took the dough all the way to a national championship final, putting the bakehouse on the map.

  4. First Counter

    The First Neighbourhood Counter

Mason & Crumb opened its first bricks-and-mortar counter in the Cathedral Quarter, Birmingham.

  5. Now

    Four Neighbourhood Counters

Mason & Crumb grew out of all of it — serving bread, patisserie and brunch across four neighbourhood counters in Birmingham.

Proud Of The Bake

Best CroissantAward Finalist

Our bakers took the dough all the way to a national croissant championship final, with proper Normandy butter. The same lamination is baked off in every counter, every morning. Independent, and proud of where the ingredients come from.
